     Below is a sample course outline for the Private Pilot Ground School.  Further down is the Instrument Rating Ground School.  Each session starts at 6:30pm and runs for 3 hours.  Call 715-294-4500 to register Our Private Pilot Ground Schools start in Mid-September and Mid-March each year while the Instrument Rating Ground School starts the first week of January of each year.

Evening 4 - Quiz & Review.  Lesson:  Engines & Systems, Airport Marking Systems, Aeromedical Factors

Evening 5 - Quiz & Review.  Lesson:  Aerodynamics & Flight Instruments

Evening 6 - Quiz & Review.  Lesson:  Communications & Radar, Radio Navigation - ADF & VOR

Evening 7 - Quiz & Review.  Lesson:  Aircraft Performance and Weight & Balance

Evening 8 - Quiz & Review.  Lesson:  Cross Country Planning - E6B & Plotter

Evening 6 - Quiz & Review.  Lesson:  ILS, Departure Procedures, Standard Terminal Arrival Routes, DME Arc

Evening 7 - Quiz & Review.  Lesson:  Missed Approaches & Holding Patterns, Enroute Charts, Preview Class Cross Country Trip exercise

Evening 8 - Review.  Lesson:  In-Class Cross Country Trip & Discussion

Evening 9 - Review.  Lesson: Final Exam (60 questions - 1.5 hours)

     Students will need to bring a pen or pencil and notepaper.  Upon registering and pre-payment, you will receive the course materials ahead of time to review before class.
