  • Density Altitude Calculator  JavaScipt calculator for pilots. Determines density altitude from the altitude, air temp, altimeter setting and relative humidity.

  • Banked Stall   Calculates banked stall speed. Input: Straight-and-level stall speed and bank angle. Output: Banked stall speed.

  • Beacon Range   Calculates beacon range given a range of different scenarios i.e. suspected topographic obstructions, topographic obstructions absent, beacon on high lying ground, with or without refraction and using the usual formula. Input: Beacon elevation (a.m.s.l.), beacon height (a.g.l.), aircraft altitude and beacon distance to obstructing topography (depending on relevant scenario). Output: Beacon range in nautical miles and kilometres, relevance of topography.

  • Calibrated Air Speed (CAS)   Calculates calibrated air speed. Input: Altitude, altimeter subscale (qnh), temperature (OAT) and true air speed (TAS). Output: Calibrated air speed.

  • Convert Units   Performs conversions involving nautical miles, miles, yards, feet, inches, kilometres, metres, centimetres, milimetres, kilograms, pounds, litres, U.S. gallons, gallons, Celsius, Faranheit, Kelvin, kilowatts and horsepower. Input: Quantity, and unit to be converted to. Output: Quantity in new unit.

  • Crosswind   Calculates crosswind and headwind components on runway. Input: Wind direction, velocity and runway number. Output: Crosswind and headwind speeds.

  • Equivalent Air Speed (EAS)   Calculates equivalent air speed. Input: Altitude, altimeter subscale (qnh), temperature (OAT) and true air speed (TAS). Output: Equivalent air speed.

  • Great Circle   Calculates way points and distance along a great circle. Input: Respective longitude and latitude of start and destination; number of way points. Output: Longitude and latitude of way points and distance along great circle.

  • Heading and Ground Speed   Calculates heading, groundspeed and duration due to winds aloft. Input: Direction and speed of wind, track, air speed, variation and distance. Output: True and magnetic headings, groundspeed and duration.

  • Load Sheet   Performs standard mass and balance calculation. Input: Mass and arm for aircraft, oil, crew, each row, baggage compartments, fuel and estimated fuel burn. Output: Mass, centre of gravity and moment for both take off and landing; individual moments for inputs.

  • Loaded Stall   Calculates banked stall speed. Input: Unloaded stall speed and unloaded mass.  Output: Loaded stall speed.

  • Mass-Volume Conversion   Performs standard conversion of masses / volumes to volumes / masses for avgas', avtur and mineral oil.  Input: Mass / volume of avgas, avtur or mineral oil Output: Volume / mass of relevant hydrocarbon.

  • Morse Code   Encodes and decodes morse.  Input: Phrase to be encoded/decoded. Output: Decoded/encoded phrase.

  • Outside Air Temperature (OAT)   Calculates outside air temperature. Input: Altitude, altimeter subscale (qnh), indicated air temperature (IAT), either callibrated (CAS) or true air speed (TAS) and a recovery factor. Output: Outside air temperature.

  • Propeller Tip Velocity   Calculates the tangential velocity and mach number at the propeller tip. Input: Propeller blade length, RPM and temperature. Output: Mach number at propeller tip and tangential velocity.

  • Propeller Thrust   Calculates propeller thrust. Input:  True air speed (TAS), shaft HP and propeller efficiency.  Output: Thrust.

  • Top of Descent   Calculates top of descent. Input: S tarting altitude, speed, and rate of descent. Output: Distance and time from destination.

  • True Air Speed (TAS)   Calculates true air speed.  Input: Altitude, altimeter subscale (qnh), temperature (OAT) and equivalent or callibrated air speed (IAS). Output: True air speed.

  • U.T.C.   Performs standard time zone conversion.  Input: Time/U.T.C. and longitude. Output: U.T.C./time.
